SCA Circular No. 2/1993

CONCERNING REBATES ON SUEZ CANAL TRANSIT TOLLS OF CRUISE VESSELS TRANSITING THE CANAL FOR VISITING THE EGYPTIAN RED SEA PORTS THE SUEZ CANAL AUTHORITY DECIDED A REBATE OF 35% OF THE SUEZ CANAL NORMAL TRANSIT TOLLS OF THESE CRUISE VESSELS WITH THE AIM OF MOTIVATING AND INCREASING NUMBER OF TOURISTS VISITING EGYPT. 

THIS REBATE TO BE GRANTED AS FOLLOWS:

1- FULL SUEZ CANAL TOLLS TO BE SUBMITTED BEFORE TRANSITING FROM PORT SAID SOUTHBOUND.

2- ON HER RETURN VOYAGE FROM SUEZ NORTHBOUND 30% ONLY OF SUEZ CANAL NORMAL TOLLS TO BE LEVIED ON CONDITION OF:

 
A. SUBMITTING A DECLARATION EVIDENCING THAT VESSELíS TRIP WHICH STARTED ON ..(DATE IF ENTERING THE CANAL FROM PORT SAID) WAS DEVOTED ONLY FOR TOURISTIC ACTIVITIES IN PASSING TO EGYPTIAN RED SEA PORTS (NAME OF PORTS) AND NO OTHER COMMERCIAL BUSINESS (SUCH AS LOADING OR DISCHARGING CARGOES DURING THEIR TOUR) TOOK PLACE.
 
B. THIS DECLARATION HAVE TO BE STAMPED BY THE EGYPTIAN MINISTRY OF TOURISM OR BY THE MISR TRAVEL CO. AND PRESENTED TO TRANSIT DEPARTMENT (SURVEY SECTION) BEFORE VESSELíS TRANSIT.
 
C. IN CASE OF A.M. DOCUMENTS WERE NOT SUBMITTED BEFORE NORTH BOUND TRANSIT, FULL SUEZ CANAL NORMAL TOLLS WOULD BE LEVIED. THE 70% REDUCTION WILL BE RELEASED UP ON RECEIVING SUCH DOCUMENT WITHIN MAXIMUM PERIOD OF THREE MONTHS FROM DATE OF TRANSIT NORTHBOUND. 

3- THIS CIRCULAR COMES INTO FORCE ON 14.04.93.
